Onwards from Andratx following the twisting country lane through S’Arraco brings one to possibly the best kept secret in Mallorca. Even the Mallorquins refer to St Elm as “muy tranquilo!” a former fishing village and now a lovely little resort. Although a definite slower pace exists here, it is well served by bars and restaurants year round though fewer are open in the winter season naturally. There is something here for the walkers, painters and birdwatchers but also for families as the environment is low key and the good-sized sandy beach gently shelves into clear, blue water. Highly recommended all through the year or perhaps combined with another area a little more animated
