Clinging to the side of the mountain is the ancient village of Banyalbufar, famous for its man made terraces which descend to the sea. These countless terraces are a tribute to the work of man of many years ago. This little village is a delight to explore before venturing to the nearby varied countryside with its dramatic scenery offering walks in the mountains and along the high cliffs overlooking the azure blue Mediterranean. There is a small rocky beach with good, clear water ideal for snorkelling. There are sufficient amenities within the village and a welcome addition in recent years of places to eat. This lovely and intriguing coastline challenges both the French and the Italian Rivieras with its appeal and outstanding beauty.
