Port d’Andratx is a popular but quiet resort situated on the south west tip of Mallorca. It has a well known marina with a natural port and is a magnet for yacht and boat owners world wide. It boasts some of the best restaurants on the island, with many small bars and bistros worth a visit. A delightful place for a holiday, and a good point to tour from. On the road to the mountains which form the backcloth for much of the south west of Mallorca lies the old market town of Andratx. A pretty town of old, quaint houses which provide an ideal base for the walker or those wishing to relax and enjoy the quiet beauty, yet minutes by car from the sophisticated port and the secluded beaches of places like St Telm. Visitors to the old town during the winter months will realise the benefit of having a car as virtually no bars or restaurants are open and the bus service between the two points is extremely infrequent.
